Dawex co-CEO Fabrice Tocco, participated in the French & German Executive Dialogue organized by the Embassy of France to Germany, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and Inria on January 24 2025.

Conclusions and Call for Action were drawn following the discussions which will feed the AI Action Summit hosted by the French Presidency in Paris on February 10-11, 2025, as well as the European agenda to foster a sovereign and competitive European AI.

On January 24, 2025, Dawex had the pleasure to participate and contribute to the discussions with industry, technology, innovation and applied research leaders from France and Germany, organized in Berlin by the Embassy of France to Germany, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and Inria. As output from the discussions and exchange, French & German leaders urge prompt action to tackle the challenges facing Europe's digital sovereignty and overall competitiveness

6 priorities emerged, with number 1 simplified, business and innovation friendly regulations, in particular the implementation of the AI Act and the Data Act.

As priority 2 positioned by leaders is a robust and scalable AI infrastructure, including a European cloud service ecosystem with a single, user-friendly certification process and trusted Data Spaces to share data. To achieve these goals, leaders expressed a shared interest in continuing this dialogue in order to pinpoint some flagship projects that can drive existing French and German innovations, such as identifying several lighthouse projects that are catalysts of existing French and German innovations such as data spaces, with the potential for rapid upscaling.

As a matter of fact, data spaces are more and more identified as central to the economy as organizations and consortiums have recognized that their next performance leap was dependent on participating in data ecosystems. One of the main challenges around AI is the access to trusted, reliable and quality data. AI models are only as good as the data they are trained on.

Data spaces are essential solutions to accelerate AI development, as they provide the full range of federated services required to govern and orchestrate data ecosystems, such as governance, trust, security, compliance with data regulation, standardization, confidentiality, interoperability, data exchange services, traceability of data transactions and performance. Data space initiatives are multiplying around the world, driven by regulation and business requirements, across all sectors of the economy.

Data spaces are core to the development of AI, as to advance towards a flourishing European data-driven economy and become a trusted AI leader, it is essential to promote growth, competitiveness, and ethical standards in the global AI landscape.

More than 50 French and German executives participated in the Executives Dialogue from Bayer AG, BDI, BNP Paribas, Cap Gemini, Dassault Systems, Dawex, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Venture, ESCP, EON, Eviden Big Data Security, Forvia Hella, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, General Catalyst Europe, Hub France IA, Inria, Kayrros, KI Bundesverband, LightOn, Make.com, OVHCloud, Phoenix contact GmbH & Co.
